BiographyAt the early age of 3 my parents enrolled me into gymnastic to keep me under control since I was known for hanging and climbing on everything. I fell in love with the sport and competed heavily until I was thirteen. I would have loved to take the gymnastics further however; my body was much too tall for it. So I found other outlets to stay active with softball, track, cheerleading and some gymnastics in high school. The start of my senior year in high school I slowed down the working out do to the lack of athletic activity. My senior year I decided I was done for good with gymnastics and although I did other sports instead, I didn't take them as serious. Soon changes started to occur to my body which I didn't like. My Body fat increased, and I started to gain unwanted weight that I have never experienced before. Unfortunately, I went about things in the wrong way in order to get back the lean frame I had most of my life. I tried starving myself, but I enjoyed food to much so I tried "getting rid" of my food. However, I knew it was wrong. I did this off and on for two years. Finally in 1995 I met my husband who loved to work out and hit the gym. I was 115lbs at 5'9", there was nothing to me, no lean muscle at all. It took my husband telling me that I looked unhealthy, and it was then that I realized I needed to change my ways. I started reading the magazines he got on a regular basis like muscle magazine, Flex, Muscle Media and I started to realize how beautiful these women looked. I discovered the myth "if you lift hard, women will get "bulky", is so UNTRUE. I saw pictures of Mia Finnegan at the Olympia and at the Galaxy, and I fell in love with her body. I decided "one day" I will compete, but I never really wanted to do the diet part of it. So I continued lifting hard until 2003 when I discovered I was pregnant. I worked out during my pregnancy but I took it a little easier and took off a few months here and there. Afterwards, I started back to the gym and I really got into it heavy. I started to follow the diet to a "T" and realized how much I enjoyed the structure. I set my eyes on my first show, The Carole Semple Classic National Qualifier. To my surprise I did well, placed 4th, and qualified for the JR Nationals. So now that's where I'm at, getting ready for my first National show and working full time, being a mother and wife, and trying to put on as much needed weight before for June. Thank you for all the support to my friends, family, and fans.
